Kubaton
|
The kubaton is a self defense weapon on a key chain. The weapon resembles a small stick with a flat or pointed tip. It is used to strike the attacker in self defense situations. The small size and innocuous appearance makes it versatile to strike vulnerable pressure point areas of the body such as the hands, arms, nose, shins, spine, head, temple, groin, neck, etc.
With the keys on the key ring, you can turn your keys into a weapon as well. The kubaton can be held swung at the attacker using the keys as a flailing weapon.
Most basic kubatons are made of metal aluminum for its strength and light weight. However, they are also made in wood, plastic, brass, and steel in different designs to not suggest the stick is a weapon.
 It is always a good idea to get proper instruction on defense tactics with an experienced kubaton instructor. Taking classes will prepare you with techniques and actual role play using the kubaton.
